Vox Sponsae (Voice of the Bride) is a podcast on the Liturgy of the Hours, the public and communal prayer of the Catholic Church. Through this podcast, we hope to inspire greater devotion to the Liturgy of the Hours among God's people and help them discover the meaning and significance it has for the Church and her members.
What is the Liturgy of the Hours?
The Liturgy of the Hours is the public and communal prayer of the Catholic Church. This prayer traces its beginnings to the earliest days of the Church when Christians "devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers (Acts 2:42)."
Every time we gather to pray the Liturgy of the Hours, we offer the divine praises contained in the Psalms, proclaim the word of God in Sacred Scripture, and pray for the salvation of the world. It is the prayer in which "all Christian prayer finds its source and goal (CCC, 1073)."

Who We Are
Saint Thomas More House of Prayer is a Catholic retreat center in Cranberry, Pennsylvania (Diocese of Erie) that exists to pray and promote the Liturgy of the Hours, the public and communal prayer of the Church.
Because we believe this prayer has the power to effect transformation in the hearts of men, we want to share it with as many as possible.

What We Do
It is quite simple. We pray and promote the Liturgy of the Hours.
We accomplish this through praying the Hours daily (see our schedule here), hosting individual and group retreats, and offering workshops that equip people to pray and promote the Liturgy of the Hours in their own lives.
We are committed to this labor because we believe, along with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Liturgy of the Hours is indispensable for the Church to be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ and live a life of ceaseless praise and adoration on earth.
