on Spiritual Motherhood for Priests
March 18-20th, 2022
Join us on March 18-20th for our annual Women's Retreat with the Community of St. John. This year's theme is "Spiritual Motherhood for Priests" and will be led by Fr. Joseph Mary, CSJ.
It has been said that spiritual motherhood is a grace of the Holy Spirit by which a woman surrenders herself body and soul to Jesus Christ, for the sake of His Bride the Church and for the glory of the Father, so that through her self-offering, priests may be purified, healed, and sanctified.
The pre-eminent model for spiritual motherhood is of course the Blessed Virgin Mary who offered her entire life as an oblation to the will of the Father. As the Mother of the incarnate Son and Eternal High Priest, Jesus Christ, she is the very condition of the priesthood itself. By sharing in her spiritual maternity then, women of all states in life can contribute in no small way to the sanctification of priests and the fruitfulness of their ministry.
How does a woman embrace this vocation within a vocation - to be a spiritual mother for priests no matter her state in life? This will be the topic of our conferences throughout the weekend.
The retreat will begin with Vespers at 5:30pm on Friday, March 18th and end with lunch on Sunday, March 20th. Cost is $260/person. This includes overnight accommodations, meals, and retreat talks. Limited space available.
